O you who believe! seek assistance through patience and prayer; surely Allah is with the patient. 153 And say not of those who are slain in God's cause, "They are dead": nay, they are alive, but you perceive it not. 154 And surely We shall try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives and crops; but give glad tidings to the steadfast, 155 who, in adversity say: 'We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return' 156 These are the people upon whom are the blessings from their Lord, and mercy; and it is they who are on guidance. 157 ۞ [Hence,] behold, As-Safa and Al-Marwah are among the symbols set up by God; and thus, no wrong does he who, having come to the Temple on pilgrimage or on a pious visit, strides to and fro between these two: for, if one does more good than he is bound to do - behold, God is responsive to gratitude, all-knowing. 158 Verily those who hide that which We have sent down of evidence and the guidance, after We have expounded it unto mankind in the Book, these! curseth them Allah, and shall curse them the cursers 159 save such as repent and make amends, and show clearly -- towards them I shall turn; I turn, All-compassionate. 160 But those who disbelieve, and die disbelieving shall incur the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people. 161 In this state shall they abide; [and] neither will their suffering, be lightened, nor will they be granted respite. 162 Your God is One God. There is no god except He. He is the Merciful, the Most Merciful. 163
