Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 He plunged the villages 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
