The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who hath created and then proportioned, 2 who has ordained and guided, 3 It is He who has caused the grass to grow, 4 Then made it dry and dark. 5 We shall enable thee to recite, and then thou shalt not forget, 6 Except what Allah should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden. 7 We shall ease you to follow the way of Ease. 8 So remind them if reminder is profitable: 9 He who fears will mind, 10 But the wretched one will avoid it - 11 even he who shall roast in the Great Fire, 12 wherein he will neither die nor remain alive. 13 He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself 14 And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer. 15 Nay (behold), ye prefer the life of this world; 16 Though the life to come is better and abiding. 17 Indeed this is in the former scriptures. 18 The scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
