We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 And when your Lord said to the angels: Surely I am going to create a mortal of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 28 And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." 29 then the angels all prostrated themselves together. 30 except iblis (father of the jinn) who refused to be one of those who prostrated themselves. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?" 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed. 34 "And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment." 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 He said, "You are granted respite 37 "Till the Day of the Time appointed." 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 Save such of them as are Thy perfectly devoted slaves. 40 He said: This is a right course incumbent upon Me: 41 "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.). 42 Gehenna (Hell) will be the promise for all of them. 43 Unto it are seven portals; unto each portal is a portion of them assigned. 44
