3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
