Victory (Al-Fatt-h)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
We have granted to you, (Muhammad), a manifest victory, 1 That God may save you from earlier and subsequent blames, and complete His favours on you, and guide you on the straight path, 2 And that Allah may help you with strong help. 3 He it is Who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the believers that they might increase belief unto their belief. And Allah's are the hosts of the heavens and the earth and Allah is ever Knowing, Wise. 4 and so that He might admit the believers, men and women, into Gardens through which rivers flow, to dwell therein forever, and so that He may remove their evils from them, that is, indeed, a supreme triumph in God's eyes, 5 And that He may chastise the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women and the associaters and the associatresses, the thinkers of evil thought concerning Allah. Unto them shall befall the evil turn of fortune, and Allah shall be wroth with them and shall curse them, and He hath gotten ready for them Hell: an ill destination! 6 To God belong the hosts of the heavens and the earth; God is All-mighty, All-wise. 7 Surely We have sent you as a witness and as a bearer of good news and as a warner, 8 So that (men) may believe in God and His Apostle, and honour Him and revere Him, and sing His praises morning and evening. 9 Behold, all who pledge their allegiance to you indeed pledge their allegiance to God: the hand of God is over their hands. Hence, he who breaks his oath, breaks it only to his own loss. Whereas he who remains true to what he has pledged to God, shall have a great reward bestowed upon him by God. 10
