By the moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 a warning to humankind, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 concerning the sinners, 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
God the Almighty always says the truth.
