Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 storming tempestuously 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known term? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
