The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and gently take it away; 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
