Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 In a lofty garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
