Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it covers 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
