A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 This Book has been sent down to you; so do not hesitate to warn (the unbelievers) through it, and remind the faithful. 2 Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. 3 How many cities have We destroyed! Our wrath struck their people at night or during their midday siesta. 4 And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!" 5 (On the Day of Reckoning) We shall question the people to whom We had sent Our apostles, (if they followed their teachings), and will question the apostles. 6 We will tell them with absolute certainty (what they had done) for We had never been absent from them (during their lifetime). 7 The weighing that day is true; he whose scales are heavy -- they are the prosperers, 8 And those whose (deeds) are lighter in the scale shall perish for violating Our signs. 9 We established you in the land and provided you with a means of livelihood there: yet you are seldom thankful. 10
