1/4 Hizb 17

The chiefs of the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "This is indeed a well-versed sorcerer; 109 who seeks to drive you from your land what do you command' 110 They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers 111 "To bring all the wise magicians to you." 112 The magicians came to the Pharaoh and said, "We must have our reward if we are to gain a victory over him (Moses)". 113 He said: Yes, and you shall certainly be of those who are near (to me). 114 They said: O Musa! will you cast, or shall we be the first to cast? 115 He said: Cast. So when they cast, they deceived the people's eyes and frightened them, and they produced a mighty enchantment. 116 We put it into Moses's mind by inspiration: "Throw (now) thy rod": and behold! it swallows up straight away all the falsehoods which they fake! 117 ۞ Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no effect. 118 Thus they were vanquished there, and they went back abased. 119 And the sorcerers were cast down, bowing themselves. 120 [and] exclaiming: "We have come to believe in the Sustainer of all the worlds, 121 the Sustainer of Moses and Aaron!" 122 Firon said: Do you believe in Him before I have given you permission? Surely this is a plot which you have secretly devised in this city, that you may turn out of it its people, but you shall know: 123 "Surely, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then I will crucify you all." 124 They said, "Indeed, to our Lord we will return. 125 “And what did you dislike in us, except that we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us? Our Lord! Pour (bestow abundantly) patience on us, and bestow us death as Muslims.” 126
