The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
