Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
