Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, 1 Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. 2 And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son 3 And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly. 6 And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger]. 7 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 And that we know not whether evil is meant for those who are on earth or whether their Lord means to bring them good: 10 For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways. 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: 15 And [Allah revealed] that if they had remained straight on the way, We would have given them abundant provision 16 So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 when God's servant stood up to pray to Him, they pressed close to him in great numbers, almost stifling him. 19
