Nay, by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 A warning to mortals, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
