1/2 Hizb 35
< random >
'O Messengers, eat of the good things and do righteousness; surely I know the things you do. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. 53 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. 54 Do they think that We are helping them by giving them children and property? 55 We hasten unto them with good things (in this worldly life so that they will have no share of good things in the Hereafter)? Nay, but they perceive not. 56 Those who tremble with fear of their Lord; 57 And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 And those who do not associate (aught) with their Lord, 59 and those who give to others what has been bestowed upon them with their hearts trembling at the thought that they must return to their Lord; 60 It is these who race for the good deeds, and they are foremost in them [e.g. offering the compulsory Salat (prayers) in their (early) stated, fixed times and so on]. 61 We do not lay a burden on anyone beyond his capacity. We have a Book with Us that speaks the truth (about everyone); and they shall in no wise be wronged. 62 On the contrary, their hearts are in neglect of this and their works are different than those of the believers, the works that they are doing. 63 Till when We grasp their luxurious ones with the punishment, behold! they supplicate. 64 (We shall say): 'Do not groan today, surely you shall receive no help from Us' 65 For when My revelations were read out to you, you turned back on your heels and fled 66 [and,] impelled by your arrogance, you would talk senselessly far into the night." 67 Should they not think upon the saying? Or, did anything come upon them that had not come upon their ancient forefathers? 68 Or is it that they did not recognise their Noble Messenger, therefore they consider him alien? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. 71 Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision. 72 And most surely you invite them to a right way. 73 but those who disbelieve the life hereafter deviate from the right path. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro. 75 (They are such) that We seized them with chastisement (and yet) they did not humble themselves before their Lord, nor do they entreat 76 Until when We open upon them a door of severe chastisement, lo! they are in despair at it. 77
