Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 till a known term decreed? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 as black camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
