The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
