What aileth those who disbelieve, that they keep staring toward thee (O Muhammad), open-eyed, 36 towards thee on the right hand and on the left hand in knots? 37 Does every one of them desire to enter the bountiful Paradise? 38 By no means! They know that which We have created them from. 39 Now I do call to witness the Lord of all points in the East and the West that We can certainly- 40 To bring instead (others) better than them, and We shall not be overcome. 41 So leave them to engage in vain talk and to amuse themselves until they come face to face with the Day which they are promised, 42 the Day on which they will hastily come forth from their graves, as though they were hurrying on to the altars of their deities. 43 Their eyes cast down; disgrace shall overtake them; that is the day which they were threatened with. 44
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej). Sent down in Mecca after Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah) before The News (Al-Naba')
