(Muhammad), recall Our servant Job. When he prayed to his Lord saying, "Satan has afflicted me with hardship and torment," 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 We gave him back his family and doubled their number as a blessing from Us and as a reminder to the people of understanding. 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 And make mention of Our bondmen, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of parts and vision. 45 Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode, 46 Lo! in Our sight they are verily of the elect, the excellent. 47 Also, remember our worshipers Ishmael, Elisha, and ThulKifl, they are among the good. 48 This is a reminder. And indeed, for the righteous is a good place of return 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are open to them, 50 wherein they shall recline, wherein they shall ask for abundant fruit and drinks, 51 ۞ And with them shall be those restraining their eyes, equals in age. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 Our provision for you will never be exhausted. 54 All this [for the righteous]: but, verily, the most evil of all goals awaits those who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right: 55 Hell!- they will burn therein, - an evil bed (indeed, to lie on)!- 56 This - so let them taste it - is scalding water and [foul] purulence. 57 And other Penalties of a similar kind, to match them! 58 [Its inhabitants will say], "This is a company bursting in with you. No welcome for them. Indeed, they will burn in the Fire." 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 They will say: 'Our Lord, give those who brought this upon us double the punishment of the Fire' 61 And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked? 62 Is it [because] we took them in ridicule, or has [our] vision turned away from them?" 63 Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire. 64
