The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And there shall be such as will have lost themselves in evil: oh, how [unhappy] will be they who have lost themselves in evil! 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A multitude of those of old 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 on lavish couches 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And carpets raised. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 and made them virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
