Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
