In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Terror descends 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 a good many of those of olden times, 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 On lined couches, 15 facing one another. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 And fruit of what they select 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 And clustered plantains, 29 and continuous shade, 30 And water poured out 31 And fruit abundant. 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 for those on the Right, 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
