Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a high Garden. 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
