In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
THE STARTLING CALAMITY. 1 What is the startling calamity? 2 And what will explain to thee what the (Day) of Noise and Clamour is? 3 (It is) a Day whereon men will be like moths scattered about, 4 And the mountains will become as carded wool. 5 And then, he whose weight [of good deeds] is heavy in the balance 6 will live a pleasant life, 7 And for one whose scales prove light, 8 Will have his home in a (bottomless) Pit. 9 And what will explain to thee what this is? 10 A blazing Fire! 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
