Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 He said: Surely you are an unknown people. 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 So set out thou with thy house hold in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs, and let not one of you look back, and pass whither ye are commanded. 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came [unto Lot,] rejoicing at the glad tiding. 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 Fear God and do not shame me." 69 They said, “Had we not forbidden you from meddling in the affairs of anyone?” 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) – they are indeed straying in their intoxication. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 Thus did We turn it upside down, and rained down upon them stones of what had been decreed. 74 There are certainly signs in that for those who can learn a lesson -- 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 The dwellers of the Wood (near Midian) were also wicked. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
