If affliction befalls you, it is what your own hands have earned, but He pardons a lot. 30 And you cannot escape in the earth, and you shall not have a guardian or a helper besides Allah. 31 And of His portents are the ships, like banners on the sea; 32 and if He wills, He stills the wind, and they remain motionless on its back. Surely in that are signs for every man enduring, thankful. 33 Or He can ruin them due to peoples’ sins and He can forgive a great deal. 34 those who dispute Our signs shall learn that they have no escape. 35 Whatever you have received is just a means of enjoyment for this life but the reward of God for the believers and those who trust in their Lord will be better and everlasting. 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 Who obey the commands of their Lord and fulfil their devotional obligations, whose affairs are settled by mutual consultation, who spend of what We have given them, 38 and who, whenever tyranny afflicts them, defend themselves. 39 And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allah. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers. 40 And whosoever harms after he has been harmed there is no blame upon them. 41 blame attaches but to those who oppress [other] people and behave outrageously on earth, offending against all right: for them there is grievous suffering in store! 42 And verily whoso is patient and forgiveth - lo! that, verily, is (of) the steadfast heart of things. 43
