Nay, by the moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 Warn the men. 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until death approached us". 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
