The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
