Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 Of what avail shall their enjoyment be to them? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Art thou not aware that they roam confusedly through all the valleys [of words and thoughts,] 225 And how they say that which they do not? 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
