The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 facing one another. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and continuous shade, 30 And water everflowing. 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 For those on the right. 38
