The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O, you, wrapped in your cloak, 1 Arise and warn! 2 Thy Lord magnify 3 And thine inner self purify! 4 shun uncleanness; 5 And do not through giving seek thyself to gain, 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 That, at that time, shall be a difficult day, 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 Leave him to Me, the one whom I created single. 11 And for whom I appointed wealth extended. 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 and who still greedily desires that I should bestow upon him more. 15 Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 May he be accursed, how he planned! 19 And again perish he! How maliciously he devised! 20 Then he looked, 21 frowned and scowled; 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old; 24 This is not but the word of a human being." 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 It glows and burns the skin. 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 We have not appointed the guards of hell, except angels; and did not keep this number except to test the disbelievers in order that the People given the Book(s) may be convinced, and to increase the faith of the believers and so that the People given the Book(s) and the Muslims may not have any doubt and so that those in whose hearts is a disease and the disbelievers, may say, “What does Allah mean by this amazing example?” This is how Allah sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills; and no one knows the armies of Allah except Him; and this is not but an advice to man. 31

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
