And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 Who listens to you (for spreading rumours); but most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
