He created man and surely know what misdoubts arise in their hearts; for We are closer to him than his jugular vein. 16 When the two Receivers receive (him), seated on the right hand and on the left, 17 He utters not a word, but there is a vigilant watcher at hand. 18 And [then,] the twilight of death brings with it the [full] truth that [very thing, O man,] from which thou wouldst always look away! 19 The trumpet will certainly be sounded. This will be the day (about which you) were threatened. 20 And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind, 21 [and will be told:] "Indeed, unmindful hast thou been of this [Day of Judgment]; but now We have lifted from thee thy veil, and sharp is thy sight today!" 22 And his accompanying angel said, “This is the record of your deeds, available with me.” 23 "Cast each stubborn unbeliever into Hell," (they will be told), 24 every hinderer of the good, transgressor, disquieter, 25 who has set up another god besides God: cast him into severe punishment" -- 26 ۞ His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." 27 He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand: 28 and My word shall not be changed, nor am I unjust to My servants." 29
