And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 Yet these say: 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 On that Day no cousin shall help his cousin and they shall not be helped 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
