Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 Thamud, 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
