▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ No! I swear by the positions of the stars – 75 And verily, that is indeed a great oath, if you but know. 76 Behold, it is a truly noble discourse, 77 inscribed in a well-guarded Book, 78 which none but the pure [of heart] can touch: 79 A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. 80 Do you then hold this announcement in contempt? 81 And you make its denial your share? 82 Wherefore then - when the soul cometh up to the wind-pipe 83 right before your very eyes? 84 But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 209] 85 If you are true to your claim that there is no Day of Judgment, 86 do you not restore his soul, if you are truthful? 87 Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabun (those brought near to Allah), 88 (There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights. 89 And if he (the dying person) be of those on the Right Hand, 90 Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right." 91 And if he be of the beliers, the erring, 92 He shall have an entertainment of boiling water, 93 and a roasting in Hell. 94 Indeed, this is the true certainty, 95 So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 96
