The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
