And (remember) when your Lord called Musa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing), 10 The people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh). Will they not fear Allah and become righteous?" 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 besides, they accuse me of a crime, and I fear that they may put me to death." 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 "So allow the Children of Israel to go with us.' " 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst; and thou art of the ingrates. 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Pharaoh said, "What is this: Lord of the Universe?" 23 Moses said, "Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would be convinced." 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. 26 Said Firaun, “This (Noble) Messenger of yours, who has been sent towards you, has no intelligence!” 27 [Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason." 28 (Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!" 29 He said: even though I bring unto thee something manifest? 30 (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
