The believing man said, "My people, follow me and I shall show you the right guidance. 38 O my people! this life of the world is only a (passing) enjoyment, and surely the hereafter is the abode to settle; 39 Whoever does evil will be requited with evil; but whoever does good, whether male or female, and is a believer, will enter the Garden; where they will be provided for without measure. 40 ۞ "And O my people! How (strange) it is for me to call you to Salvation while ye call me to the Fire! 41 You call me to disbelieve in God, and to associate with Him that whereof I have no knowledge, while I call you to the All-mighty, the All-forgiving. 42 What you are calling me to is surely not worth the calling in this world or in the next, because our returning is to God; and because the transgressors will be inmates of Hell. 43 "Soon will ye remember what I say to you (now), My (own) affair I commit to Allah: for Allah (ever) watches over His Servants." 44 So Allah protected him from the evil (consequences) of what they planned, and the most evil punishment overtook Firon's people: 45 The Fire; they are exposed to it morning and evening; and on the day when the Hour upriseth (it is said): Cause Pharaoh's folk to enter the most awful doom. 46 And when they will quarrel amongst themselves in the fire, those who were weak will say to those who sought greatness, “We were your followers, so will you reduce from us some of the punishment of the fire?” 47 Those who were proud say: Lo! we are all (together) herein. Lo! Allah hath judged between (His) slaves. 48 And those who are in the fire said to its guards, “Pray to your Lord to decrease the punishment upon us for one day.” 49 The keepers of Hell will ask: “Did your Messengers not come to you with Clear Signs?” They will say: “Yes (they did).” The keepers of Hell will say: “Then you yourselves should call (upon the Lord). And the call of the unbelievers will end in vain.” 50
