Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
