Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They slept very little during the night 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
