(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 “And untie the knot of my tongue.” 27 so that they may understand me. 28 And give to me an aider from my family: 29 Aaron my brother 30 "Increase my strength with him, 31 “And make him a partner in my task.” 32 That we may sing Your praises much, 33 and remember You much: 34 Verily, Thou seest all that is within us!" 35 (Allah) said: "Granted is thy prayer, O Moses!" 36 We have bestowed Our favour on you before this 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 "'Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him': But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under Mine eye. 39 Then your sister followed you, and said (to the people who had retrieved the child): 'Should I guide you to a person who can nurse him?' We thus brought you back to your mother that her heart may be cheered, and she may not grieve. (Remember) when you killed a man We saved you from anguish; and tested and steeled you (in other ways). Afterwards you sojourned for several years with the people of Midian; then you came up to the measure, 40 And I formed thee for Myself. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not be remiss in remembering Me. 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 The two said:" Lord! We fear he may commit excesses against us, or transgress all bounds." 45 He replied: 'Have no fear I shall be with you, both hearing and seeing. 46 Go, then; you two unto him and say, 'Behold, we are apostles sent by thy Sustainer: let, then, the children of Israel go with us, and cause them not to suffer [any longer]. We have now come unto thee with a message from thy Sustainer; and [know that His] peace shall be [only] on those who follow [His] guidance: 47 It is revealed to us that a punishment will fall on those who belie and turn away." 48 (Firon) said: And who is your Lord, O Musa? 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave everything its form and then guided it." 50 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "What about the generations of old?" 51 (Moses) replied: "Knowledge of that is with my Lord (recorded) in the Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 It is God who has made the earth as a cradle for you with roads for you to travel. He has sent water from the sky to produce various pairs of plants. 53 Consume them as food or for grazing your cattle. In this there is evidence (of the existence of God) for the people of reason". 54
