Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 Of what avail shall their enjoyment be to them? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
Almighty Allah's Truth.

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
