(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
