Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
