The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
