He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 To him you attend; 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 and fears (Allah), 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Of what thing did He create him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 How We pour water in showers 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 And dense gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
